Prof. Dr. Jan Kok
Jan Kok is a Professor in Molecular Genetics at the University of Groningen. The expertise’s of prof. dr. Kok are in molecular genetics and genomics. Furthermore, prof. dr. Kok has been closely involved with the iGEM team of Groningen as the supervisor for a few of years now, a function has he has taken over from prof. dr. O.P Kuipers. Next to his function as professor and supervisor of the Groningen iGEM team prof. dr. Kok is the adjunct Director Master Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, a member of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, a member of the Board of the Groningen Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Institute, and finally a member of the Board of the Graduate School of Science.
Prof. Dr. Dirk Jan Scheffers
University of Groningen. Prof. dr. Scheffers his expertise’s are in biochemistry & molecular biology, microbiology, and biotechnology & applied microbiology. Dirk-Jan is involved in this year’s Groningen iGEM team as a supervisor. Other functions of prof. dr. Scheffers are: a member of the RuG University Council, a board member of General and Molecular Microbiology, and an adamic editor for the Royal Dutch Society for Microbiology.
Assistant Prof. Andreas Milias Argeitis
Andreas Milias Argeitis is a tenure-track assistant professor in systems biology at the University of Groningen. Dr. Milias Argeitis his expertise’s are in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Mathematics, and combining both in interdisciplinary applications. He is known for his work in systems biology, mathematical modelling, machine learning, probability & statistics, and most importantly as a supervisor for the Groningen iGEM team of 2018.
Linda Dijkshoorn.PhD
Linda Dijkshoorn is the CEO and founder biotechnological start-up EV Biotech, a bio-technological company that develops state-of-the-art microbial cell factory strains for effective and sustainable production of chemical compounds on demand. Furthermore Linda Dijkshoorn is a PhD candidate in Pharmaceutical Biology at the University of Groningen in the group of prof. dr. Wim Quax. Where she works with Bacillus subtilis engaging in metabolic engineering in the field of synthetic biology, working towards sustainable pharmaceutical production.
