<p>After talking with both experts in the field and in research, we realized we needed to narrow the scope of our project and focus on biomanufacturing. </p>
 
<h2 id="researchers">Researchers</h2>
 
<p>We were extremey thankful to be able to talk with Amin Zargar, a researcher at UC Berkerly in the Keasling lab. Our project is heavily influenced by his paper, &quot;Enhancing Intercellular Coordination: Rewiring Quorum Sensing Networks for Increased Protein Expression through Autonomous Induction&quot; and we were fortuante enough to talk with him through Skype.    </p>
 
<p>Through these discussions, he has given us significant redirection in how our project should be executed. </p>
 
<p>We were also able to talk with Charles Richardson, a postdoctoral student studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Virginia. He has given us valuable advice on the applications, feasibility, and scope of our project.  </p>

<p>Since an important part of our project is focused on biomanufacturing, we teamed up with Kombucha Biomaterials, LLC. Their company focuses on using alternative, robust materials and methods that are sustainible and cost effective to make cellulose from kombucha to make paper. </p>
