We had a fierce fight on balancing the pros and cons of the applications of the synthetic engineering in human’s life. We gave many convincing examples, stated a lot of facts, used different viewpoints to discuss the issue. We talked about examples from eugenics to superweeds, from International Monsanto Tribunal to Taiwan Anti-GMO Organizations. And yet, we’re equipped with a sharpening vision and depth perception to strengthen our proposition. | We had a fierce fight on balancing the pros and cons of the applications of the synthetic engineering in human’s life. Reflection:
It’s a great experience for us to organize my team timely and effectively, and a rare opportunity to stand in opposition to an iGEM team, CCU-Taiwan. We really did much work to research in the topic of GMO and have learned a lot from this competition. Special thanks to the volunteers, CCU participants and Debate Club from MDHS, for the help to organize this debate competition. Without them, we can’t ever have such a fantastic and meaningful competition in the life of high school students.
