The cooling circulating water system is a device that removes heat from industrial equipment and is often used in fossil plants, chemical plants, and thermal power plants. Its water volume can account for 70% of total industrial water consumption.

Mainly due to the accumulation of rust and biofilm. Rust and biofilms are produced by the metabolism of iron bacteria and biofilm-producing bacteria. The accumulation of the two provides attachment points for more bacteria, causing more serious blockages and even health problems.

The most common solution at present is the addition of chemical agents, including rust removers, removers and fungicides. However, due to strong corrosion and strong oxidizing properties, these chemical agents not only cause secondary corrosion to the cooling cycle system, but also cause huge environmental pollution caused by cooling circulating water discharge.

This year, ECUST 2018 will use synthetic biology ideas to design genetic circuits. Construct genetic engineering bacteria integrating sensing, derusting and sterilization. Reduce the cost of chemical reagents for companies and bring huge green economic benefits.

We designed new hardware called iTube for pipeline system. Using Artificial Neural Networks to predict blockage and corrosion.
