Creating a better life quality

TecTissue main objective is to provide mexican families an easy way to help in the reduction of medical bills and hospitalization time, make the recovery process easier and also create a chance for a better life quality for the people that had suffered burns..

There is one big problem that is common around the world, this problem is burn lesions and in Mexico is the third cause of infant mortality. (NTX, 2017) Is a problem that has been ignored because of what the healing process requires. Thus, we decided that accelerating this process would have many advantages, not only in a quicker skin regeneration, but also it would have a psychological impact and a reduction in the economic cost.

The project mainly consisted in skin regeneration but with an improvement. It was the acceleration of this process using recombinant proteins like collagen, composed by non-canonical amino acids. Also, we implemented a growth factor produced by humans called Leptin. This growth factor has been reported in different skin regeneration process. There were some other proteins used in this project: Tenascin and heparin. Both of them, with the company of collagen, compose our scaffold where the encapsulated leptin (encapsulated with chitosan) binds there in order to have an appropriate delivery of it in the skin.

Because of the time and all the process that consist the development of a drug, our product was proven in fibroblast cell line (L929), which comes from mice.

To prove our project it was necessary to elaborate a Mini Skin Simulator were the cell lines were provided with the conditions they required in order to get a positive proliferation. This Mini Skin Simulator was automatized to create a friendly device for the manipulation of cells in a culture.
