Source: CONACYT-INEGI, Encuesta sobre la Percepción Pública de la Ciencia y la Tecnología (ENPECYT), 2017 That being said, we took huge responsibility on creating spaces where we could establish a public dialogue about synthetic biology, create the ability of discussing the science behind synthetic biology and mainly, create new scientific curiosity in people of all ages and races.
We believe the diffusion and understanding of science is a huge area of opportunity in our country, that being said, we put a lot of hard work into the Public and Education Engagement component of our project, accomplishing an outstanding reach of over 250,000 people through different activities such as: iGEM National Congress of Science, After iGEM, iGEM National Education Tour, Workshops, a youtube collaboration with Curiosamente, articles in magazines of national reach, three presentations in science conferences, two iGEM meetups and a Science Seminar.
