Hyaluronic acid micro factory : A bacterium produces low molecular weight hyaluronic acid
Engineering strain : Bacillus subtilis
Genetic origin : Streptococcus equi and Leech
Now is a younger world, more people pay attention to their appearance, and the development of cosmetics is increasing.
The most common substance in cosmetics is hyaluronic acid, which has a good moisturizing ability. And it can remove wrinkles that can make people look younger.
General use streptococus to produce HA but it have risk of infection. So we construct a recombinant Bacillus subtilis strain to produce high molecular weight hyaluronic acid.
Only Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid has stable structure after cross-linking and can be made for a cosmetic. So we recombinant our strain again, make it can produce LMW-HA.
