Attributions

We would like to thank the kind, supportive people that we have met and had the privilege of collaborating with over our iGEM project. There have been numerous research groups, companies, departments and individuals that have supported us over the course of this project. We would like to express our gratitude and acknowledge all of these people for their time and contribution.

General Support

Supervisors

Our supervisors helped us develop the project and specially helped us in managing the team to solve all possible communication issues. We would like to thank Dr Rodrigo Ledesma-Amaro and Amrit Singh for their help and advice on wet lab troubleshooting. As well as, Dr Tom Ouldridge for his help and guidance on modelling and software issues and to Ismael Mullor Ruiz for his support on all areas of the project and being the glue of the team to keepus together. Finally, we would like to give a special thanks to Prof. Richard Kitney for helping us make this project a reality and encouraging us during this process. This project will not be completed without all of your support.

Departments

We would like to express our greatest gratitude to the departments of Bioengineering and Life Sciences at Imperial College for making this project possible and helping us have one of the best experiences of our lives.

Technical Support

During this project we have had the chance to work with experts in various research fields. We would like to thank you all for you time and patience, without you we would not have complete this project :

Dr Danny O’Hare, reader in sensor research, profoundly advised us in electrochemistry experiments and modelling. He gave us crucial advise in finding the balance of our redox modulators to make our system work in different conditions and in how to evaluate the chemical reactions happening on the background of our system.

Dr Robert Bradley, as bio-electrochemist he gave us essential advise in how to work in bio-electrochemistry and kindly let us his potentiostat for the duration of the whole project.

Dr Marko Storch, as one of the developers of the BASIC assembly technique. He helped us tremendously for designing characterising the library constructs , as well as, helping us to troubleshoot our applications constructs. He also advised us to use a colony picker, which helped us to get a clear and detailed proof-of- concept picture.

Ari Dwijayanti, expert in BASIC, she instructed us in BASIC assembly technique performance and patiently helped us with problems we faced in the lab.

Dr Tanya Tschirhart, as first author of the original Nature paper that we based our project on, she answered our questions regarding to the electrochemistry aspect and the set-up of the experiment.

Dr Robert Sternberg, senior lecturer in science communication, advised us in our science communication strategy design and human practices. He emphasized that phrasing is particularly important when it comes to presenting science to audience with different backgrounds. Hence, we came with the Science communication Guide based on his advice.

Alice Boo & Henry Lloyd-Laney since the beginning of our project, Alice and Henry were heavily involved in our project, giving us advice in how to convey our ideas. providing us with some plasmids and other lab material when we asked her for.

Wiki support

Carys Muller,

Virginia Ma, as a graphic designer from UAL. She helped us to produce the demonstration icons that are shown on each pages. She also gave advise on the aesthetic side of the wiki design.
