Abstract
Our product, D-psicose, has a variety of medical benefits, such as a certain effect in controlling blood sugar. We believe that our products can benefit many people and achieve commercial success. To commercialize our project, we have done a lot of related work.
In order to understand the public's awareness and acceptance of our products, we interviewed several target customers to collect their suggestions and requirements, which have had a great impact on the development of our products.
We conducted extensive market research, compared existing products with our products, and analyzed possible costs and profits, which has a profound impact on our analysis of the future development of our products.
We have consulted and researched the law on patent and product technology conversion. We summarize our entrepreneurial work in terms of product application, market analysis and financial summary.
Product application
Research on the feasibility of entering the market and patent applications

Teacher Lu is an expert in the transformation of basic achievements. In order to ensure that our project products can be patented and have the potential to enter the market, we discussed it with him on related issues.
After discussion, we believe that industrial production of psicose is feasible, but there is still a lot of work to be done.
Through Mr. Lu, we also learned that commercial production needs to focus on the following four aspects.
- The complete process of the laboratory is the basis of industrialization.
- The production technology of naloxone involves property rights issues, and the ways of cooperation with the company include technology transfer, technology transfer, technology shareholding, cooperative R&D, university R&D, cooperation with enterprises, joint training of talents, etc.
- If you choose to start a business, the issues that need to be considered in the early stage are: source of funds, plant, production equipment, management team, raw materials, market, etc
- Product pricing needs to be taken into account: raw material costs, equipment costs, plant fees, utilities, depreciation rates, labor costs, production, sales, total market for similar products, market growth, market growth, advantages of this product, etc.
Market analysis summary
Based on the survey, we summarized the current beverages on the market and counted the sweeteners used in them.
By investigating the types of sweeteners in different beverages, we found that most soda drinks use a variety of different sweeteners, while the sweeteners in juice drinks are mainly white sugar. Many sweeteners in soda can cause harm to human health. From this point of view, psicose is a potential healthy sweetener.

Through investigation, we found that most of the sweeteners are less sweet than sucrose, and may also cause various side effects on the human body. In contrast, psicose has a high degree of sweetness, low calorie, and no side effects, which proves that psicose has the advantage of entering the market.
Interviews with corporate technicians
We visited relevant companies to learn important market information and data from market professionals. We summarize the current market information to predict the future development of our products.
- The potential market of D-psicose is vast. As people's living standards and the awareness of healthy living are also improved, there are many potential customers for D-psicose in the future.
- About Cognition：D-psicose is a natural sugar, but few people know about it, which is a challenge for our IGEM team.
- About quality: It is important to ensure that the public recognizes the taste of the food made by D- psicose and it’s a piece of healthy natural sugar.
- About the price: The price of D-psicose in China, the market can accept, is about 10,000 yuan/ton. If you use D-psicose as a bottled beverage, the price of one bottle is about 10 yuan / bottle, which our society can accept.
Communicate with target customers
- In the activities, most of the elderly we meted have diabetes.
- With the improvement of living conditions, people's concern about physical health is increasing. More than half of the elderly say that they usually eat more vegetables and eat less sugar food，and are very focused on the stability of their blood sugar.
- Most of people support our project about D-psicose and have a positive attitude. Old people show an interest in D-psicose, even support research and development, are willing to buy,

Achievements
Our project is based on a directed evolution of D-psicose synthesis system. Compared with traditional chemical synthesis methods and biosynthesis methods, our method has the advantages of high yield, low energy consumption and low carbon emissions. Therefore, we took this direction as an entry point, expanded our project, participated in the 4th China "Internet +" College Students Entrepreneurship Innovation Contest Finals and the energy conservation and emission reduction competition, achieving good results in the Bronze Award and Excellence Award.
During the competition, our team completed the preparation of the business plan and responded to the experts. This process has enabled us to better understand the problems faced in the entrepreneurial process and to more deeply recognize the value of our projects, which plays a guiding role in the future development of our IGEM projects.
Plan for future
We strongly hope to promote and transform our achievements in the laboratory, reduce the production costs of psicose and enable it to be industrialized. In the process of achieving commercial success, we are not afraid of difficulties and challenges. We can still apply for patents for our projects, making it possible to industrialize large quantities of psicose. We hope that our program will benefit a large number of people with diabetes and obesity. We hope that every ordinary person can enjoy this high-sweet, low-calorie healthy natural sugar.
