Basic Parts

Originally VP16 is a protein from the herpes simplex virus. It activates the transcription of the late genes of this virus by the RNA-polymerase II of the eucaryotic host.- BBa_K105001A basic part is a functional unit of DNA that cannot be subdivided into smaller component parts. BBa_R0051 is an example of a basic part, a promoter regulated by lambda cl.
