Shan Jiang Team Leader

Hi, I am Jiang Shan from Shenzhen College of International Education, this is my second iGEM season. I am doing project design through phyllomancy, TAD(Tarot Assisted Design) of circuits, wet lab experiments and data processing through astromancy, report writing with chirognomy and collaboration with the help of ichthyomancy. Outside biology, I do enjoy playing football or use my phone to play table tennis. Last time my 23andMe result showed that I have a high chance of balding, I do have naturally curled hair even the seq analysis did not say so. It is interesting to cooperate across cities, I do hope we can make something remarkable with my teammates.

Yuze Cao

I am Yuze Cao from the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China, Grade 12 student. This year in RDFZ-China 2018, I am in charge of project design and wet lab. Last year in 2017 iGEM, I learned a lot from experienced senior students in RDFZ-China 2017. This year, I myself as a senior student want to pay more and achieve more than did in last year. To be grateful, I am still enjoying my survival as an IB student, still have a full head of hair, still sleep for six or seven hours, but it won’t be so true after 2018 iGem. Wish for no regret in iGem this year, and that I can make the things I love come to a lovely result.

Miyuka Yoshida

Hello guys~ My name is Yoshida Miyuka, and I am a grade 11 student from RDFZ ICC. My main role in the team is to worship, learn, and stick with my awesome team members! (jk) This is my first and last year to participate in the iGEM as a high school student. However, I am not the one who is extremely good at biology, so I annoy my team members a lot (bear with me please). Luckily, they take care of me well, and again, they are awesome! I hope this last journey will provide me with some experiences that will help me in the future days~

Hanning Xu

I’m Hanning Xu from RDFZ-iGEM, or you can call me Prince! I’m a senior student at RDFZ ICC. My job is to perform experiments and design our wiki page. For me, I love musical and theater, and of course I love to explore life sciences. This is the first time I participate in the iGEM competition. Therefore, I value it as a very important opportunity: I could learn frontier technology in synthetic biology and enrich my experiences! I hope I could do my best in our team! Go for it! RDFZ!

picture

Zihan Li

I’m Zihan Li from RDFZ ICC, a person who extensively observes, explores, and ponders; among all aspects, I see Biology as one of the most intriguing. Currently, I make electronic music, go on long-distance runs, do workouts, and try to help as much people as I can by teaching, but sometimes I seem a little bit “nerdy” and serious (especially when doing work). This is my first year participating in iGEM, and I look forward to make it rock together!

Hengzhou Li

I am a grade 10 IGEMer——Howell. I like microbiology best, especially about disease such as HIV therapy, immunotherapy and so on. This is the first time that I participate in IGEM competition. Perhaps I can’t do very well. But I am willing to accept ant idea. Wish that time I can fight against iGEM with my teammate and make my contribution to the whole team.

Xueqi Sun

Hi everyone, I’m Xueqi Sun, or you can call me Joerica. Since it is the first time I’ve ever participated in iGEM and learnt synthetic biology, I’m still accumulating theoretical and practical knowledge. Undoubtedly this will be a treasurable and meaningful experience, and I’m looking forward to cooperate with the team. Wish I will always on the way of exploring the mystery of life with full head of hair : )

Haining Wang

I am Haining Wang, a 12th grader of The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China and a team member of RDFZ_China. This is the second time I attend to iGEM. The competition experience last year benefited myself a lot in learning synthetic biology and basic experimental operation skills, meeting with friends that share same interest, and communicating with professors and predecessors in Jamboree. I show great motivation in exploring biological subjects, and I also expect to learn from and communicate with my amazing team members this year. Comparing to 2017, I am more knowledgeable in biology and facing heavier academic challenges. Hope I can still achieve progresses in 2018 iGEM without regret.

Jingqi Chen

Hi everyone! My name is Jinqi Chen (Kathryn) from RDFZ Grade 12. This is my first experience in International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition, and there is no doubt that I’m pretty excited about it. Here, I’m responsible for designing Wiki page, mathematical modeling, and doing experimental work. I love STEM competitions and research programs, and I have a basic understanding of synthetic biology theoretically and experimentally. My dream is to do engineering as my future career, and right now, I’m taking baby steps towards it. Needless to say, I wish to learn a lot from my teammates. Hard work and flawless cooperation are important for whatever our future majors might be. Hope we can win! Hope we gain best from our effort. Hope we all run towards the daybreak frontline!

Daichen Liu

That is Liu Daichen, a 11st student from RDFZ. It is the first year for him to take part in IGEM. He might have a little bit talent of art design and handicrafts. However, he chooses Biology as his lifelong mate. This man still need to learn a lot. He is totally a new entrant and gonna start his nightmare in next couple of months. Hope he can gain something after this competition.

picture

Yishen Shen

I’m Yishen Shen from S2C3. Last year I worked with seniors in 2017 IGEM RDFZ-China for a few month, where I reinforced my understanding of this field. Although preserving an inexpressible passion for art, I’ve made up my mind to carry on with Biology, a cute yet tough subject. I’m very flattered to be cooperating with our intelligent teammates and I’m looking forward to contributing more, gaining more in IGEM this year, continuously refining my comprehension in synthetic biology without any regret.

picture

Ruochen Liu

Hello! My name is Ruochen Liu or my English name is Alexei. I am a 10th grader this year and I come from the International Curriculum Center of High School Affliated to Renmin University of China. I am keen on biology and fond to learn new biology information in my spare time. This is my first time in IGEM and I will cherish the process of the competetion and study synthetic biology. Collaboration and communication also will be a main content before and during the competetion, I wish I can contribute to the group as much as I can.

picture

Sizhuo Wang

Hey guys, I’m Sizhuo Wang, a tenth grader from RDFZ. You might find my name a bit difficult for the tongue, but I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it soon enough, with some practice. I am generally obsessed with certain arthropods and programming (which are two things that don’t seem to stick to each other at all), but recently I found genetic engineering equally charming (yay, something else that doesn’t seem to stick to the other two). This is my first time participating in iGem, as well as a first time taking part in a year-long team project that works with microbes. Thankfully, my teammates are all awesome people, so I have already learned much from them, and probably will learn even more in the future. You will see me on my laptop a lot this year as I’m also working with one of our team leaders to construct our wiki webpage apart from my normal duties as a team member. Like the rest of my team, I am totally looking forward to seeing our project unfold while making its way to success, and seeing the rest of you bio-people at the Jamboree!

Ziyuan Zhao Advisor

Having led experiments in BHU_China in 2016 and initiated the iGEM team at our school last year, I’m proud to be the advisor this year to help my team get around the failures and follies that have tripped me in the past. I’m captivated by the bold idea of designing and assembling biological components in synthetic biology – it motivates me to search for the fundamental principles of biology and their real-world applications. As a high school senior, there’s still so much I have to learn, and I’m excited to continue my quest in the undergraduate years. A final thought: We have the most passionate and talented young people working on the team this year. I believe that the experience will serve as an inspiration for our future endeavors, even if outside of STEM fields. Let’s rock, my friends!
