Perspectives of the project
Vulgarisation of the project
We wanted to choose this project because, it is often dificult for women to talk freely about their contraception issues or issues related to the vaginal microbiota. Moreover a lot of personn do not the importance of the vaginal microbiota for a healthy vagina.
Throught this project we wanted to open the discussion around this issues through synthetic biology but also through art and education.
New applications in medecine
While a great deal of recent research has focused on the important of the gut microbiota there is a lack of knowledge and research about the specific requirements of its vaginal counterpart.
A better understanding of the vaginal microbiota could would help us to better understand many diseases and develop new tools and treatments for women.
For example, some of the peptides that we studied have great properties such as anti HIV action.
Modified bacteria in a human body ?
Our project is very ambitious, and we know that a project like this is not for today, and we have to continue the researchs about the modified bacterias in a human body.
